I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology and my Masters degree in Physiology and Endocrinology here at Laval University, Quebec City, Canada. During my undergraduate studies, I also worked for three summers in Oceanography at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and this led to my long term interest in the aquatic sciences. I subsequently worked as a technician in oceanography with Professor Louis Legendre, and over the last few years as the technician (professionnelle de recherche) in aquatic ecology and microbiology for Professor Warwick Vincent’s research group.

Much of my work involves pigment analysis by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) of phytoplankton, zooplankton, microbial mats and sediments. Our samples come from many lake and ocean sites, but especially from the Arctic. I also take care of our culture collection of Arctic and Antarctic cyanobacteria that are used by researchers in our laboratory and elsewhere, and I help graduate students in some of their microscopic, biological and chemical analyses.
