I’ve always been fascinated with life, ecosystems and environment. That’s why after a year studying microbiology at Laval University I switched to biology
and I’m now beginning my master degree with Dr. Isabelle Laurion in Water Sciences at L’Institut National de
Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Quebec City. My researches will focus on biodiversity and gas flux in thermokarst lakes
in the sub-arctic and arctic regions. More precisely, I’ll evaluate methane and carbonic gas fluxes as well as genetic
diversity of bacteria and phytoplankton using many methods including flow cytometry. I’ll also try to correlate chemical and physical parameters to gas emissions in thermokarst ponds.
